How to Listen Effectively™
Somewhere along the way we have not learned to listen. Yet, over 40% of what we learn and know is through listening. Surprisingly, there are not courses in school on this topic. We have speaking classes, but not listening classes. What does this say about our priorities? The course is divided into six sections:
- What has influenced our listening?
- What are the barrier reefs between listening and speaking?
- How do we become more self-aware?
- What are the basics of good listening?
- How do we truly listen to others?
- How do we get others to listen to us?
The format will allow for practice and discussion on each section; this is not a lecture approach. Facilitation will be through small groups and one-on-one practice.
