Change and Futuristic Thinking
Business 2010
Ian Pearson and Michael Lyons
What does the landscape look like in the future? The authors attempt to delineate the technological, business, political, and social pressures anticipated over the next few years. They then examine these pressures and what they will mean to businesses and future strategies. The difficulty is predicting which technological capabilities will be needed, but an effort must be made to look at the possibilities.
The Heart of Change
John P. Kotter
Mr. Kotter’s process is simple yet profound: In attempting to make a change, first increase the urgency for the change, build the guiding team, get the Vision right, get Buy-in through communication, empower action, create short term and long term wins, don’t let up, and make the changes stick! A necessary read if you are going to initiate change!

Control Your Destiny or Someone Else Will
Noel M. Tichy
This is a story about how Jack Welch (GE) went about mastering the changes necessary for GE to move into the next generation of thinking and excelling in the new world. Book written in the early 90’s, but still has some relevance today.
Rethinking the Future
edited by Rowan Gibson
Some of the great authors and writers of our time explore subjects that need to be ‘re-thought’; such as principles, competition, complexity, the world, markets, and leadership. Insightful and helpful to see what these great authors are thinking.
Playing the Future
Douglas Rushkoff
It is very easy to let the past and a negative interpretation of it affect our present world view. The author suggests we play to a future as if we were in the idealistic state of being a young teen again. These young people are alive, optimistic and hopeful. This is a gift they can give us, and our present generation needs this sense of ‘playing to a future’ instead of believing we’re doomed.

Dictionary of the Future
Faith Popcorn
Three books, written by a futurist that are worth reading. They prompt some thinking that we would not otherwise look at — and this outside-the-box thinking and visioning about the future is a necessary habit to get into — especially for leaders!!!!
